Free Speech as in Open Source!

When Facts fail, how do you convince someone who opposes you?

Shit, I've seen this on countless forums on the Internet. Either I've done it or others did it to me. Every link I cite, someone says it is wrong or fake or biased, and every link I am given from them I call wrong or fake or biased.

The problem is the neutral view is not the same as the skeptic view anyone then it is the religious view, etc.

That is the thing about the Internet, it can be full of shit and fake articles and reports and stuff, and people use it to try and convince others. But when anyone is found wrong, they refuse to give up their beliefs?

Fake news is no joke! (#87)

At Facebook we take fake news very seriously. Anyone caught posting fake news will be temporarily banned for 24 hours. Repeated offenses will lead the account to be banned and deleted. We're Facebook, we don't care, we don't have to!

There exist news sources that have a consistent track record and when there is a big story you'll find multiple sources, with consistent records corroborating each other. These sources may be biased or have a particular slant but you can be assured that their reporting is accurate.

There also exist sources that have a record of publishing complete bullshit. Their stories will not be corroborated. They will often say something to the effect that "this is what THEY don't want you to know". So citing them is a waste of time.

They are like those grocery store tabloids. They are for entertainment not real news.

It ain't rocket science. Like that pizza gate crap. People have been to that pizza place and there isn't any child prostitution going on there. And the same goes for any of those 'facts', it doesn't take hardly any effort to debunk them. They often aren't rational and the really sad thing is they make the person trying to spread the bullshit look stupid. And when they continue the more people will dismiss them. People can have opposing viewpoints and remain civil and rational. One has to wonder how strong their position is if they have to resort to fantasy and fallacy to bolster their case.
